Snack

  • Our Casa students enjoy having snack during their work time.
  • Snack is provided by the parents for the class to share on a daily basis.
  • A snack calendar is provided monthly.
  • snack1Nutritious between meal snacks must consist of foods from two food groups as outlined by the Day Nurseries Act.
  • Snacks are to be provided in their original unopened packaging and the staff will prepare the snacks for their students.
  • Baked items served in class must be made in inspected bakeries.
  • Juice is optional and if provided then it must be a pure fruit juice, not with added sugar as found in fruit punch or Sunny D.
  • Children are also able to have water as needed during their work time.
  • Please be aware that not all children choose to have snack each day so there will be times that your child is unable to, or chooses not to, eat their snack.
  • Our school promotes a healthy lifestyle to all of our students and we encourage parents to be aware of the food that they provide and how they can impact learning.
  • Ingredients such as high levels of sugar, additives and hydrogenated oils, can all impact how your child is able to learn.

Listed below are some suggested items to bring for snack.
